2016 Chevrolet Camaro Updates
Thanks to computer-aided engineering and 9-million hours of computational time, the engineering team at Chevrolet was able to improve the stiffness of the new Camaro by 28 percent over the current model. Because of the efficiencies earned through advancements in engineering, the team was able improve stiffness without tacking on additional mass. As a result, the overall weight of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is going to be at least 200 pounds lighter than the current model. This translates into a more nimble driving experience with more responsiveness and control.
Further improvements to the next-generation 2016 Chevrolet Camaro come in the way of new technology. Geared towards adaptability, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will be equipped with a drive mode selector that includes settings for Snow/Ice, Tour, Sport and Track (SS only) configurations. This selector calibrates up to eight attributes to better match driver preference.
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS will be available with Magnetic Ride Control, a system previously available only on the Camaro ZL1. This system offers three presets for Tour, Sport, or Track settings that adjust ride and handling.
Lastly, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is also going to be available with an enhanced dual-mode exhaust system. This system uses electronically controlled valves to bypass the mufflers under hard acceleration for improved performance and better sound. The driver will be able to toggle between a stealth mode or a more aggressive track mode.
