Cadillac is going green! The brand has unveiled its first all-electric vehicle – the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ. It’s a luxury crossover SUV with a great driving range, tons of high-tech features, an impressive amount of interior space, and so much style inside and out. It will have over 300 miles of driving range on full charge, so it can take you even further than other EVs.
The LYRIQ will be powered by GM’s new Ultium battery system, which delivers great performance on every drive. The system has less cobalt than other GM batteries, so it’s more environmentally-friendly. There will be multiple charging options for your home, workplace, and on the road, so you’ll always have a full battery.
The new SUV will include an enhanced version of GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system. It allows you to drive with your hands off the wheel on thousands of miles of enabled roads. The system now includes lane change on-demand. The LYRIQ will also be able to park and unpark itself with or without someone in the vehicle.
The SUV will sense when the driver approaches the vehicle and “greet” them with a choreographed light sequence. It will also prepare for your drive by adjusting the seat, mirror, and climate system. Inside, there’s an impressive 33-inch display that spans the length of almost the entire dashboard. It acts as the gauge cluster and entertainment system.
The display is equipped with the latest version of the Cadillac User Experience system. You can access your smartphone, navigation, weather reports, and more through the CUE. The LYRIQ also has a head-up display that reflects your speed, direction and other information on your windshield. Its other features include
Some of its other features include a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system, a “black crystal” grille, and hidden storage. The LYRIQ will be available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The motor is located in the back of the vehicle to give you more balance and agility. All-wheel drive models have a second motor in the front for more enhanced performance.
Jamie Brewer, the Cadillac LYRIQ chief engineer, said: “The LYRIQ was conceived to make every journey exhilarating and leverages more than a century of innovation to drive the brand into a new era, while rewarding passengers with a more personal, connected and immersive experience.”
Andrew Smith, the executive director of Global Cadillac Design, said: “The LYRIQ represents the next iteration of the iconic brand’s styling, enabled by electrification, as only Cadillac can express. Inside and out, LYRIQ is a thoughtful integration of design and technology and is intended to make every drive an occasion.”
The LYRIQ has tons of style and innovation. Its impressive drivetrain helps you save money on gas while helping the environment. This exciting new SUV is part of GMs’ upcoming new line-up of electric cars, trucks and SUVs. The company is investing over $3 billion a year in EV development through at least 2025.
Steve Carlisle, the executive vice president and president of GM North America, said: “Led by LYRIQ, Cadillac will redefine American luxury over the next decade with a new portfolio of transformative EVs. We will deliver experiences that engage the senses, anticipate desires and enable our customers to go on extraordinary journeys.”
