Those looking for a new Cadillac will be glad to hear they have just announced pricing for their all-new crossover, the 2017 Cadillac XT5. With little over a month until its release, Cadillac says its first deployment of XT5’s will start at just $38,995 before destination tax. The 2017 Cadillac XT5 will be taking the place of the Cadillac SRX in the midsize luxury crossover segment. Cadillac had set 2015 sales records in this category and expects consistent record results with the Cadillac XT5.

The XT5 will be base priced below most other manufacturers’ competing models, including the BMW X3 ($40,495), Audi Q5 ($40,900), Lexus RX 350 ($42,850), and the Infiniti QX70 at $45,850. Coming in under $40,000 the Cadillac XT5 will be the obvious choice with its comparable luxury and performance.

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 has been designed with the customer in mind. According to Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen the XT5 will give them more space, technology, luxury, and efficiency.

Amongst an entire line of “XT” dubbed vehicles, the Cadillac XT5 is just the first installment. Cadillac claims the new XT5 is integral to their global growth plan. Even with the added responsibility and hype, the 2017 Cadillac XT5 is up to the task. This daring and elegant vehicle is modeled in the same vain as the segment-leading 2016 Cadillac CT6 sedan. Sleek and powerful, the XT5 tears up the road with its 3.6-liter V6 while the cabin remains insulated from exterior noise.

The introductory 2017 Cadillac XT5 comes in four different trim levels, which also includes a Platinum model at the top of the range. This XT5 Platinum will employ industry-leading technology and luxury, which includes the industry’s first Rear Camera Mirror system.

Although standard on the XT5 Platinum, Cadillac also offers all-wheel drive on the Luxury and Premium Luxury models. With this much luxury and all-wheel drive you’ll be ready for anything, making those country drives both adventurous and relaxing.

The all-new 2017 Cadillac XT5 has an identical 3.6-liter V6 as the Cadillac CT6. There’s no shortage of power in the XT5, boasting 310 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. This redesigned engine achieves impressive efficiency with Active Fuel management cylinder deactivation technology that will switch to a 4-cylinder fuel saving mode when there is low engine strain. The XT5 also utilizes Start/Stop technology, which will turn off the vehicle when it has been idling long enough, saving on both fuel and emissions.

Along with Cadillac’s first 8-speed electronic transmission, the XT5 also has a “twin-clutch” all-wheel drive option that allows for optimal traction across a diverse range of road conditions. This system is designed to give all available torque to one axle or the other. It also has the capability on the rear axle to split 100 percent of the torque to either wheel, aiding in situations where there might be more ice or water on one side of the road.

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 continues the brand’s ongoing legacy of luxury and high performance while also maximizing safety and efficiency.
