To best suit your needs, the 2017 Chevy Colorado is offered in three configurations, two drive types, and three engines. Each of the engines boasts best-in-class in at least one important category. The 2.5L 4-cylinder standard engine has best-in-class fuel economy at 19 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway. The Duramax 2.8L turbo-diesel produces less horsepower, but makes up for it with the best torque, towing capacity, and fuel economy. The big 3.6L V6 leads the class in horsepower and towing capacity.
The Colorado is built to be the versatile pickup you need. In addition to its incredible towing capabilities, the Colorado is a smooth ride on just about any surface. The cabin features triple-sealed doors and thick glass, which makes it the quietest midsize truck on the road. All the better to hear your awesome available Bose® sound system. This pickup is built for smoothness and style in the city just as much as it’s made for its rough-and-ready capability.
This Spring, Chevy will also release the ZR2, designed to tackle off-road driving. It offers serious off-road capability, yet still drives smoothly through the city. Chevy has designed all sorts of segment-exclusive features for the ZR2, making it a serious off-road contender. If you’re breaking new ground out there beyond the pavement, the Colorado ZR2 can take you and your haul wherever you need to go.

The 2017 Colorado combines comfort and function. It offers easy-to-use controls and high-tech features. Intuitive gauges and accessible storage make your time in the driver’s seat convenient and stress-free. The cabin features easy, secure storage and a nonskid space for charging devices. It also has up to four USB ports, so you can charge your device or hook it up through Chevrolet MyLink to play your favorite music. The Bluetooth connectivity through MyLink also gives you hands-free calling, and you can view your navigation on the 8-inch color touch-screen display. Chevrolet MyLink also hooks up to your compatible smartphone and gives you the ability to start or stop your engine and lock your doors from your phone.
Chevrolet offers over 150 accessories to customize your 2017 Colorado. The Colorado can be equipped to help you pursue any passion. You can find the accessories to carry anything from mountain bikes to surfboards. There are also off-road steps to help you hop into the raised cabin, and all-weather floor mats for easy cleaning after a long day in some muddy boots.
There are also several optional packages for the Colorado to customize your pickup’s appearance or driving experience. For the best utility of your pickup’s space, grab the GearOn divider package or GearOn utility rack package, with tie-downs, stanchions, and storage systems. There’s also the Chrome Appearance package or Midnight Edition package to bring out the unique appearance you want from your vehicle. The safety and convenience packages are included with some trims, and give you helpful features like Forward Collision Alert, front fog lamps, the EZ-Lift & Lower Tailgate, and much more.
Every year, the latest pickups need to pack a bigger punch than before. That’s why a new 3.6L V6 LGZ engine bumps the 2017 Colorado up to 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The Hyrda-Matic 8L45 is built in-house, and the additional two gears help keep the engine producing maximum torque. The 3.6L LGZ engine also has cylinder deactivation, which shuts down two cylinders when the load is light. It helps to get better fuel efficiency with light loads, and still retain the ability to produce huge amounts of torque when you need it. All said, you can tow up to 3,500 lb. with the 2.5L engine, 7,000 lb. with the 3.6L V6, and a whopping 7,700 with the 2.8L turbo-diesel.
The 2.5L and 2.8L Diesel engines each come standard with the 6-speed automatic transmission, but the 8-speed Hydra-Matic is available on both. These three standard engines make the 2017 Colorado an incredibly versatile vehicle, made so you can tailor it to your needs. The base model Colorado with the 2.5L engine produces 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque, and it gets best-in-class fuel economy at 20 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway. The 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine is a popular choice, scoring three best-in-class titles for torque, towing capacity, and fuel economy. It creates only 181 horsepower, but makes up with 369 lb-ft of torque, and still gets 30 mpg on the highway. The base trim is only available in 2-wheel drive, but the other three trims offer 4-wheel drive too. The Z71 even features off-road suspension, so you can take that camping trip and not worry about mud or rough countryside slowing you down.
The new transmission options also help keep the noise down at highway speeds, and overall the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado handles much better in everyday driving than its predecessors. It comes equipped with four-wheel disc brakes with Duralife brake rotors to help reduce wheel shudder and provide a reassuring 183-ft stopping distance from 70 mph, which is 12 feet shorter than its closest competition. Electric power steering gives a confident, steady feel to the handling. The revised powertrain even beats out some full-sized models, making this a fierce competitor to beat. The 2017 Colorado has an amazing range of customization that lets you pick and choose what kind of performance you want from your pickup.

The 2017 Colorado has an incredibly refined interior to give you the most comfort no matter how heavy your load. Chevrolet has designed this cab to make for a comfortable commute, including infotainment and familiar, easy-to-read gauges. The Colorado offers comfortable, supportive front seats trimmed in standard plush cloth or available smooth leather. It’s available with a two-seater Extended Cab or a Crew Cab for five passengers. The seats come standard in two plush cloth color schemes, and there are two more leather interior schemes available with a luxury package. If you want the option to carry passengers around plus extra storage when you’re going solo, the rear bench seats fold and pull up to reveal a storage compartment.
Chevrolet has taken care to make the cabin quieter than any other midsize pickup on the road, to help give you the most relaxing ride. Chevrolet MyLink comes with connectivity features to hook up your favorite music or radio stations, and the optional Bose® sound system has seven speakers for authentic acoustics for your music and clear sound for your in-vehicle calls. There’s also an available Luxury Package that includes heated front seats and power lumbar control for a more comfortable ride, especially on those cold mornings.
The Colorado also has an available automatic climate control system, so you can set a temperature and let the vehicle moderate air flow for you. The convenience package also includes an electric rear window defogger and inside rearview mirror with auto-dimming. There’s no need to let condensation or bright headlights from behind impede your vision when you’ve got places to be.
